IBPS-CWE Bank Clerk Exam Praparation

Bank Clerk is an entry level post where in all the financial queries are answered and fundamental updates and calculations are made. It is responsible to maintain basic transactions involved in banking and he also has to serve as a point of contact to the customer. He has to record and maintain all the loan information



Eligibility for Recruitment
Age: 
Minimum: 20 Years Maximum: 28 Years (With certain relaxations). The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates.

Educational Qualification:
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Computer literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
Ex-Servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union.
Pattern of Examination
Bank Clerk recruitments comprise two stages of exams, viz.
  • Stage 1 Written test
  • Stage 2 Common Interviews
Stage 1 Written test: Â
The written test normally comprises an objective type test.
Objective Paper: Maximum Marks: 200
The test areas in the objective type test of Bank Clerk Exam include tests from amongst Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English language, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.  In Objective Paper the candidate have to be answered 200 Questions in 120 Minutes.

The above tests except the Test of English Language and Descriptive Paper on English Composition is printed bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi. 

Cut-off and Negative Marking: 
The candidates shall be required to qualify in each objective test as per the cut-off marks determined by individual banks. There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the objective tests which will result in negative marks for every wrong answer i.e., one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
Stage 2 Common Interviews:
 Candidates who clear the written test are called for interview. IBPS now have the complete control over recruiting, placing professionals in all public sector banks in India. Since they have announced that the interview will be conducted by them self and not by the participating banks. And prepare a final merit list will be used to recruit the candidates directly to the banking position.
Personal Interview is conducted to check the behaviour, conversation skill, and knowledge about banking and financial topics. Technical questions may come from your previous job (if you are already working), projects that you have done, academic subjects and about the bank also. So, prepare well on one subject from your academic curriculum, do a good research on the bank and rehearsal mock interviews.
Result and Score card

  • The applicant who have applied for and have given the entrance exam will be available to check their status of result which is published on the IBPS Website.
  • IBPS uses the method of cut-off to check final score known as the Total Weighted Standardized Score.

After making the analysis a scorecard is issued to the candidates who secure the minimum Total Weighted Standard Score (TWSS) marks in each subject of the examination. And all the Successful candidates in the CWE will have to go through common interview. For more detail please visit
